Customer Voice Communication AI Provider CloudTalk Raises $28 Million

CloudTalk, a provider of AI-powered call center software, has raised $28 million in its second round of venture capital, which was co-led by Lead Ventures and KPN Ventures, a major telecom operator in the Netherlands.

Founded in 2016 and currently employing around 140 people, CloudTalk offers a platform that supports remote-workforce call-center operations with features like AI-powered dialers, conversational intelligence, and speech recognition. Its software uses natural language AI to summarize calls, automate note taking, and monitor customer opinions through sentiment analysis.

“This investment is a leap towards our ‘moonshot’ goals. Not just in terms of financial growth, but in fundamentally transforming how businesses communicate,” said Martin Malych, CEO of CloudTalk.

“It’s been fun to see how our product solves challenges for over 4,000 sales and customer-facing teams across 100-plus countries, powering more than 400 million customer conversations,” Malych said. “That translates into an unbelievable 665 years of calling.”

“Users want a phone solution that helps with basic things like boosting call quality, increasing pickup rates, and improving CRM hygiene,” the CEO added. “That’s why our focus is now intensely on AI, maximizing team efficiency, optimizing conversations, and driving revenue growth for our clients.”

M&A NEWS

Genesys Acquiring Radarr Technologies to Offer AI-Powered CX Platform

Genesys, a provider of AI solutions for optimizing the customer experience, has signed a deal to acquire Radarr Technologies, a provider of AI-based social and digital listening, analytics, and consumer engagement solutions.

Radaar’s AI-powered multilingual sentiment models will strengthen the natural language processing (NLP) of the Genesys Cloud platform, according to an announcement. This will expand the company’s ability to detect regional slang and colloquialisms across more than 100 languages, including the top 10 spoken worldwide and more than 40 Asian languages and dialects.

Radaar was founded in Singapore in 2013. The company subsequently raised $1 million of seed capital in 2021.

Terms of the acquisition deal with Genesys were not disclosed.

“As consumers increasingly turn to social media platforms to connect with brands for support, these channels become a crucial and largely untapped opportunity for organizations to engage with customers and glean valuable business insights,” said Tony Bates, chairman and CEO of Genesys, in the announcement.

“Once the capabilities of Radarr Technologies are integrated into Genesys Cloud, Genesys can accelerate its transformation of the CX industry by helping organizations further connect every touchpoint into the end-to-end customer experience,” Bates said.

BrightEdge Forecasts Google’s AI Search Will Impact $40 Billion in Ad Revs

According to new research by BrightEdge, a provider of enterprise SEO and content performance services, Google’s AI-enabled Search Generative Experience (SGE) that’s about to launch will affect over $40 billion per year in ad revenue on Google.

The study evaluated thousands of representative keywords spanning nine unique industries and a variety of markets, in order to determine how significantly SGE will impact search strategies.

According to BrightEdge an estimated 84% of queries on Google Search will be “boosted” by generative AI. The data also shows that healthcare, e-commerce and B2B technology industries will be the most significantly impacted.

With SGE, the top Google search results will be AI-generated content that highlights key considerations in the case of a user who’s comparative shopping, for example. This represents a fundamental shift in the way a search engine interacts with a user, moving from static queries to dynamic two-way conversations.

“Think about the pervasiveness of Google Search; it’s the gateway to the Internet,” said Albert Gouyet, VP of Operations at BrightEdge. “As Google’s latest launch catapults us from query-driven search to conversation-driven, AI-enabled search, the data clearly shows that businesses need to prepare themselves for a search revolution.”
